{"id":3331,"date":"2020-10-13T15:56:30","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T15:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crcasia.org\/?p=3331"},"modified":"2020-10-17T05:32:25","modified_gmt":"2020-10-16T21:32:25","slug":"crc-asia-welcomes-two-new-members-of-the-board-of-trustees-at-the-2020-general-assembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crcasia.org\/crc-asia-welcomes-two-new-members-of-the-board-of-trustees-at-the-2020-general-assembly\/","title":{"rendered":"CRC Asia welcomes two new members of the Board of Trustees at the 2020 General Assembly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>September 2020<\/p>\n<p>CRC Asia held its first\u00a0virtual\u00a0General Assembly (GA) this year on 23-24 September.<\/p>\n<p>We are happy to have been reunited with all our members during the two-day meeting, albeit differently this time, discussing internal matters and approving key documents, and sharing updates about our respective initiatives to address the impacts of COVID-19 on children.<\/p>\n<p>The statutory meeting took place on the first day of the GA, with CRC Asia Board of Trustees (BOT) President Elizabeth P. De Castro welcoming all the members with an opening message. We are also glad that our BOT Treasurer Lourdes G. Balanon, participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day, Atty. Mikiko Otani, a member of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/EN\/HRBodies\/CRC\/Pages\/Membership.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0UN Committee on the Rights of the Child<\/a>, opened the sharing session with a welcome message and relevant updates from the Committee and responded to the questions and exchanged ideas with the participants.<\/p>\n<p>At this virtual event, we also welcomed two new members of the CRC Asia BOT &#8212; Valerie Khan of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gdpakistan.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Group Development Pakistan\u00a0<\/a>and Madhav Pradhan of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cwin.org.np\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=1:child-workers-in-nepal-concerned-center&amp;catid=9:introduction&amp;Itemid=16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CWIN Nepal.<\/a>\u00a0Pehn Son of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crc-cambodia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CRC Cambodia\u00a0<\/a>concluded the program with a closing message. Penh and Aung Myo Min of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/equalitymyanmar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Equality Myanmar<\/a>\u00a0are the two outgoing BOT members, having served their respective terms from 2018-2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 2020 CRC Asia held its first\u00a0virtual\u00a0General Assembly (GA) this year on 23-24 September.
