The Vietnam Association for Protection of Child Rights (VACR) organized the 3rd<\/sup> Congress 2018-2023 last November 18 at Hanoi with 200 delegates from various cities and provinces across Vietnam in attendance.<\/p>\n

The Congress report emphasized VACR\u2019s great efforts in the last five years. They discussed their organizational development, policy formulation and feedback, protection of children\u2019s rights, organizing activities which support the poor and disadvantaged children. VACR continues to work with related government organizations and NGOs to protect children rights. They engage with relevant Ministries and agencies in dealing with child rights violations.<\/p>\n

During the 3rd<\/sup> Congress, VACR sets up the targets for the upcoming years (2018-2023) \u2013increasing from 15 to 20 local Associations and affiliates; more than 50% of the local staff are entitled to capacity building training; an increase of 10% of adults and children in the communities are provided information about the Child law and related policies through various approaches; enhancing resources mobilization, and supporting more than two million children who will benefit from various events and programs conducted by VACR.<\/p>\n

VACR also sets up a target for strengthening the cooperation with local and international organization, mobilization of social resources and participating in policy development for child protection, care and education. The Congress also\u00a0elected the Executive Committee of 48 members and a leadership Board for the period 2018 \u2013 2023.<\/p>\n

In the Congress framework, the Commemoration Conference of the Model Examples was organized to honour the collectives and individuals with their significant achievements in the protection of children’s rights. The State Vice President Mme. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh awarded the Third Labor Order from the State President to VACR for its excellent achievements in child protection during 2013-2018.<\/p>\n

VACR\u2019s achievements and efforts have been highly valued both nationally and internationally. In the last five years, VACR has developed 11 local associations, 11 affiliates, and one center attached. The Association has had 18 provincial Associations, 42 affiliates, and six centers attached with more than fifty-thousand members from 38 provinces and cities as well as supporting more than 1.5 million children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
